Trail Building Projects

Trail Repair at Stevens Creek County Park

For 2004, we will be starting a new project helping to maintain the Tony Look trail in Stevens Creek County Park. For those volunteers involved with the Trail Center in past years, you may know this trail as the "REI Trail" which was initially built jointly by REI and the Trail Center in the late 1980s with subsequent workdays since.

The Park Maintenance Leader for this project is Drew Merry.

For more information about Stevens Creek County Park, see the Stevens Creek County Park info page.

Directions: Stevens Creek County Park is located along Stevens Canyon Road near Cupertino. To access the park from Cupertino, take Highway 280 to Foothill Expressway. Follow Foothill Boulevard west three miles to the northern park entrance (Foothill Boulevard changes into Stevens Canyon Road as it crosses McClellan Road). Parking is available at the Sycamore parking lot.

Saturday, April 24, 2004 - Tony Look Trail

Activities: Restoration of existing tread as needed, pruning of overgrowth, and removal of non-native foliage along the trail. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Madrone trail head located at the back of the Madrone parking lot. Parking is available in the Sycamore parking lot just past the entrance of the Madrone lot. Following the trail build, the Trail Center will be hosting a BBQ for all volunteers. [COMPLETED]

Information on selected past projects is available from the Project Information index.
