<title>San Bruno Mountain - Saturday, 17 May 2008</title>
<link>http://www.trailcenter.org/trailbuilding/projects/2008/sanbruno2008/sanbruno2008.html</link>
<description>We will be performing needed maintenance on the Summit Loop Trail and nearby connectors.
Some brushing and a lot of new drainage is needed to bring this trail up to spec.

The terrain is quite exposed, so it could be pretty brisk and nippy during the day. Dress in layers and bring a warm outer coat or windbreaker, a sweatshirt, a long-sleeve T-shirt and any other cover which will allow you to be warm in the morning and peel off outer layers as you work and as the sun brings in some warmth. There may be wind, fog, sunshine or drizzle during the day, so be prepared.

Meet at the upper parking lot at 8:30 for crew assignments and safety talks.

A FREE Lunch! The County of San Mateo will provide volunteers with lunch mid-day.

See you there!

It holds sixty people. Some participants will be camping Friday night. Contact the Trail Center for additional details.

All park entry and camping fees will be waived for volunteers. State that you are with the Trail Center when arriving at the entry gate.

Pomponio Trail (Memorial Park)[br]
Length: 1.1 miles[br]
Project description:[br]

Starting from the Pomponio Fire Road and Pomponio Trail, crews need to
mostly perform tread repair and retaining walls in several areas to
repair slip outs. This project is a lengthy and time consuming. Some
brushing is involved including poison oak.

Creek Trail (Memorial Park)[br]
Length: 1.4 miles[br]
Project description:[br]

Starting from the Amphitheater section of the Creek Trail crews would
need to do some bank work, tread work and cribbing. Farther down the
trail between Homestead and Huckleberry, rehabilitation of two sections
washed out in the 1998 El Nino event. These sections are approximately
1/4 mile in length.
