Services Offered by the Trail Center

Services for Volunteer Groups

We are happy to work with groups wishing to volunteer in the outdoors. If your company or school promotes volunteer projects, please contact us. We have worked with groups ranging from high school environmental groups to startups, and from Sun Microsystems to Community Impact.

We typically work one Saturday a month in a park, although other times may be possible. For small groups, we prefer to integrate with other volunteers on regularly scheduled workdays; for larger groups (45 maximum), we may schedule a special date.

Training and Education

For both agencies and volunteer groups, we offer training in trail building techniques and volunteer leadership. We offer our Crew Leader Training Seminar each year (contact us for upcoming dates), a two-part class with classroom and field sessions, which is open to anyone interested in learning more about trail building and leading volunteers in the outdoors. We may also be able to offer special training sessions for your group, with specific goals.
